Bedford Place and Carlton Place
Bedford Place and Carlton Place are fantastic to sit out in the sun with friends over a couple of drinks or an evening meal. Boasting an open, piazza-style area at the centre of Carlton Place and Lower Banister Street, plus a spacious buildout area on Bedford Place, it really is one of the 'places' to be for outdoor dining.
Oxford Street
Oxford Street - home of Southampton's independent dining scene. From authentic Italian cuisine to refreshing artisan cocktails, there is something for everyone in this pedestrianised area. With almost every business offering outdoor seating, the only trouble you'll have is to choose which place to visit first.
Westquay
Westquay not only houses many of the UK's national retailers but also a wide selection of restaurants too. For outdoor eats, head over to Westquay South for that perfect mid-shopping break.
Cultural Quarter
Fancy a few pre-show drinks? Or how about a late night meet up with friends? Southampton's Cultural Quarter is brimming with lots to see and do, especially when it comes to the arts: museums and galleries are just a few steps away from O2 Guildhall afterall. You'll find plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants with many of them taking the fun outside.
High Street/City Centre
Old mixed with new - the heart of Southampton is home to key landmarks connecting the city's present to the past. From old walls to medieval vaults, there is lots to see in the way of history. While you are out exploring, plan to stop by one of these local spots to relax and watch the world go by.
Ocean Village
In Southampton's Maritime Quarter, you'll discover a bustling scene of sophistication, with hotels, restaurants and shops paired with waterfront views.
